Do you have an air fryer yet? I know you don't want another appliance to fill your kitchen counter, but I enjoy mine, and it gives a fried flavor you cannot get in the oven. An air fryer is a convection oven that cooks on the countertop using a fan to push air around your food while cooking. This is what gives it the deep-fried quality without the fat.
It's pretty simple to use and clean up. The one I have is too small, so I cook in batches that take longer, so make sure yours is big enough. The air fryer is also great for prepared foods like fries, chicken nuggets, and mozzarella sticks, and I think they taste better in the air fryer than in the oven. Tips and Tricks to Make Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer
- How long does it take to cook chicken wings in the air fryer? If the wings are raw, it should take about 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit to flip them occasionally while cooking.
- Frozen Chicken Wings - According to Trevor Craig, Corporate Director of Technical Training and Consulting and general food testing expert at Microbac Laboratories, "Air Fryers are a great way to make fast and delicious food at home. You will most likely have to cook the food longer when going from a frozen state. Sometimes this could be up to 50% longer than the thawed item to reach a safe temperature in the middle of the wings. Usually, you need to reach at least 165 F in the center to kill off all harmful bacteria."
- How long should you reheat leftover wings in the air fryer? If you made a big batch, which I highly recommend, you could reheat them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 -10 minutes.
- How should I clean my air fryer? Soak your air fryer in the sink filled with soapy water for a few minutes or overnight, then hit it the next day with a soft-bristled brush.
- How should I season my chicken wings? There are so many spices that taste great on chicken wings! Try these: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, dried oregano, chili lime spice from Trader Joe's, and cayenne pepper.
