The Cheesecake Factory features a broad menu that includes many gluten-free options. However, there are certain things to keep in mind when choosing gluten-free options from their menu.
Having said that, they have many items of their menu that are marked gluten-free and they also offer gluten-free alternatives for some main dishes. For instance, they should have gluten-free buns and gluten-free pasta upon request.
When dining at the Cheesecake Factory, I recommend checking the menu and informing your server if you want to eat gluten-free since service may vary by location.
It’s also important to keep in mind that some items may be marked gluten-free, but cross-contamination is possible due to the shared preparation environment in their kitchens.

The Cheesecake Factory History
The first Cheesecake Factory restaurant was launched in Beverly Hills, California, in 1978 by David Overton. Their story, however, began far earlier than that.
His mother, Evelyn Overton, discovered a particular recipe in the dailies around the 1940s that inspired her "Original" Cheesecake. The dessert was well-received by the locals, who began placing bulk orders. However, she stopped selling them after having her two children, David and Renee and relocated to California to raise them.
After growing up, her son David made the decision to open the first Cheesecake Factory restaurant to highlight his mother's selection of cheesecakes. Since then, the business has grown to have more than 200 sites around the world thanks to his strong will and hard work.
By 1995, the firm's headquarters had relocated from Woodland Hills to their new corporate headquarters in Calabasas Hills. Along with starting production at their new baking facility, they also started hiring more employees.
By the end of that year, the company's revenues had surpassed $100 million for the first time, and restaurant and bakery sales had climbed by 37%. Individual restaurants continued to earn an average of $8.6 million per year, substantially more than their competitors' $1.3 million.
Currently, the company operates a mid-priced, casual dining restaurant chain known for its elegant interior design and diverse menu. It’s so popular that often customers have to wait up to two hours to get a table.
There are nearly 200 options to pick from on their 18-page menu, including well over 40 different types of cheesecakes.
Is the Cheesecake Factory Gluten Free?
The Cheesecake Factory is not a specialized gluten-free facility, but their gluten-free menu options are extensive. The menu is neatly marked and easily visible in the restaurant.

Can the Cheesecake Factory accommodate special requests from guests with food sensitivities like gluten sensitivities?
The best way to answer this question is to quote the response from the official questions page on their website:
“We will do our best to accommodate special requests to prepare your meal just the way you like it. Please make us aware of any food allergies or other food sensitivities when placing your order, as not all ingredients are listed in the menu. Our restaurants are not allergen or gluten free environments. Menu items may be prepared using shared equipment and fryers allowing for cross-contact with allergens and other ingredients. For these reasons, even when specially ordered, we are unable to guarantee that a menu item will be free of any allergen.”
As you can see from their answer above, they share their fryers so I would avoid fried things like french fries, especially if you are very sensitive to cross-contamination.
They clearly state that they are not a gluten free environment, so although their menu has ‘GF upon request’ written all over, it’s something to keep in mind while dining and making requests.
