If you’ve been wondering about Firehouse Subs gluten free menu, then this guide is perfect for you. I’ll share all the latest information to help you easily find the most delicious gluten free options at Firehouse Subs.
Fortunately, Firehouse Subs has a large selection of gluten-free menu items that you can enjoy in most locations across the US and Canada. Their gluten-free sub rolls are manufactured and supplied by Schär and taste just as good as bread containing gluten.
In this guide, I’ll guide you through Firehouse Subs' complete gluten free menu in 2024, and also share important information to help you safely order your favorite sub rolls.
Firehouse Subs History
Firehouse Subs is a popular fast-food chain that has been serving up delicious sandwiches since 1994.
Founded by brothers and former firefighters Chris and Robin Sorensen, the restaurant was born out of a love for hearty, flavorful food and a desire to give back to the community. The Sorensen brothers grew up in a family of firefighters, so the firehouse theme was a natural fit.
The first Firehouse Subs restaurant was opened in Jacksonville, Florida, and it quickly gained popularity for its unique, steam-heated subs and commitment to quality ingredients. The chain's reputation for delicious, hearty sandwiches and its dedication to public safety have helped it grow to over 1,180 locations across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Firehouse Subs has always been committed to more than just great food. Through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, the company has donated more than $57 million to provide equipment, training, and support to hometown heroes, including firefighters, police, and EMS.
Does Firehouse Subs Have Gluten Free Items?
Absolutely, yes! Firehouse Subs does offer gluten-free options, which is great news for those of us who love their hearty and flavorful subs but need to maintain a gluten-free diet.
Their gluten free bread is supplied by Schar in selected locations across the US and Canada, so it’s always a good idea to call and confirm with your nearest branch before heading there.
Firehouse Subs had shared this news on their official gluten free page, which has now been removed and redirected to their homepage. I could not find any information as to why this is the case, but the previous gluten free page can still be accessed through the Wayback Machine here.
However, it's worth noting that while they take precautions to avoid cross-contamination, there is always a risk in any kitchen that also handles gluten-containing products. So, if you have Celiac disease or are highly sensitive to gluten, you may want to take this into consideration.
You can also use their online portal to search their menu for anything that you may be allergic to. They use Nutritionix to power this portal and it works seamlessly.
Complete Firehouse Subs Gluten Free Menu
Bread
Firehouse Subs offers gluten-free sub rolls in all of its locations in the United States and Canada, with the exception of airports and universities. Plus, gluten-free rolls can be substituted for any medium sub at an extra cost.
However, I've noticed that they frequently run out of gluten-free bread. In fact, for the past few months, they haven't had it. Therefore, I highly recommend calling and checking with the nearest location before you head there to avoid being disappointed.

Neil Cooper says
Would be great if they actually had these. At least the two locations I can get to around Newmarket Ontario continually never have any, always telling me that they are backordered. We only managed to get one of these about 6 weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience but every attempt since we have been told that these are backordered and they will be available in a week. Unfortunately that week never seems to come 🙁
